Green River, Day 4

Because of the steep bank at our Bowknot camp, it took a bit longer to get loaded but we were on the water by shortly after 9 a.m., enjoying light breezes and a beautiful day. Less than two hours later we were approaching the point directly south of our previous camp, even if it was a 7 mile loop to get there.

We weren't in any hurry, but we were paddling steadily with the Mineral Bottom landing as our target for the day. The views were wonderful.

This one with Two Mile Canyon in the distance.

I'd goofed and packed my camera in one of my dry bags, but Helen was taking pictures.

We arrived at Mineral Bottom shortly after 1 p.m. and got our gear and boats out of the water. Normally on a combined Labyrinth and Stillwater Canyons trip we wouldn't have stopped except to possibly use the restroom, but we were scheduled to have one more member join our group in the morning.

It was a good thing we got there when we did because shortly after we cleared the launch area a group of rafters arrived and started rigging for launch.

We watched the light changing on the cliffs (are you getting a theme?) and the edges of rain showers move through the area

before making dinner. I made apple crisp in my Outback Oven but suffered a stove malfunction. The jet was partially clogged so I couldn't get enough heat to make the crisp, crisp but we ate it anyway.

Water flow for the day was approximately 2260 cfs.
